We just opened our 2nd location in Houston, Texas officially last month. We’re excited to expand our presence to a location more central to the rest of the United States. Why Houston, you ask? Well there are plenty of reasons, here are our top 6.
Sun. Yes, sun. When we visited Houston in January, we saw the sun. It was there, actually UP in the sky, and I could feel its’ warmth on my face. What?! Seattle has 2 sunny days in January. You can not feel the sun, because it’s too far away, but you know it’s there because you briefly catch a glimpse of it riding along the horizon at noon. Joking aside, Houston gets an average of 10 hours of daylight in January, Seattle gets around 8 and a half. If you add in the mist and cloud cover and fog, it actually translates into 4 hours of dawn and 4 hours of dusk, with thirty minutes of daylight there in the middle. True story. Going back and forth between Houston and Seattle should make for a very nice break from the somewhat dreary winters here in the Pacific Northwest.
Economy. Seattle’s economy has a pretty steady beat to it. We built our business here during the recession, and we have some truly wonderful clients. As one of the largest
cities in the United States, Houston offers an even more robust economy, ranking 4th in the United States, and according to one of our vendors, just closed in on being 3rd. With 23 Fortune 500 corporations located there, along with amazing bang-for-your buck housing, it’s an excellent growth environment for us at Fazzari.
Wildlife. Bald Eagles are so yesterday, am I right? I mean really, you can only see Bald Eagles, Blue Herons, and Salmon so many times before *yawn*. Culture. Seattle is bursting with culture-from the Arts to amazing food and everything in between.
